Rathbone Unit Trust Management (“Rathbones”) announces that fund manager Noelle Cazalis will leave the business to pursue other interests outside the UK. Fixed Income fund manager Stuart Chilvers will assume lead fund manager responsibilities for the Rathbone High Quality Bond Fund with immediate effect and with no change to the investment process or objective of the fund.
Noelle joined Rathbones in 2011 as a credit analyst and was made an assistant fund manager in 2016, and fund manager in 2018. She was named lead fund manager of the Rathbone High Quality Bond Fund at launch in 2019, while also supporting Bryn Jones on the Rathbone Ethical Bond Fund and Rathbone Strategic Bond Fund.
Rathbones has built its fixed income offering around a team approach. Stuart Chilvers previously worked as a fund manager supporting the lead managers on the Rathbone High Quality Bond Fund, Rathbone Ethical Bond Fund and the Rathbone Strategic Bond Fund. He will continue to support these funds in addition to his new responsibilities.
Stuart joined Rathbones in September 2017 having begun his career at Brown Shipley. He graduated from Bath University with a first-class Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics. He is a CFA charterholder and also holds the CISI Chartered Wealth Manager qualification, having won the CISI Financial Markets & CISI Chartered Wealth Manager Qualification awards at the annual CISI awards in 2016 & 2017 respectively.
Rathbones intends to recruit a further member to the team to support the growth of the fixed income team and the wider funds business.
Bryn Jones, head of fixed income at Rathbones, said: “I want to thank Noelle for her exemplary dedication and hard work over the years that she has been with the fixed income team and her role in its growth. I know the whole of Rathbones will miss her and wish her every success in her future endeavours.
“We have always put huge focus on nurturing talent within the team and I am pleased to appoint Stuart Chilvers as lead fund manager on the Rathbone High Quality Bond Fund. Stuart has been with the team for almost six years, joining as a fixed income research analyst and latterly working as a fund manager supporting our three strategies. This should enable a seamless transition for our clients and we look forward to continuing to work with them.”
